 Message from the Board

2001 RCHCA Board

President Shannon Hamm 301-933-5264 - Vice President Mark Schweizer 301-949-6241 – Treasurer Deanna Marcum 301-933-9503 – Secretary Mike Baker 301-589-1348 - Past President Keith Emery 301-949-1542

As summer of 2001 nears an end, the Board would like to update RCHCA residents on a variety of issues.

New Board Slated for 2002 - At the January 2002 meeting, new officers for the board will be elected.  At the October 10 meeting, a nominating committee will be formed that will receive names from interested residents.  We will be seeking candidates for President and Vice President.  Please contact the board if you have questions regarding details of these or other positions.  The current board has worked hard to serve the community and looks forward to receiving new members in January.

Need to Fill Covenants Chair – Currently we have a vacancy for the chair position.  This is a critical position for our Association.  The current board is working together to continue reviewing requests.

RCHCA Fall Concert in Park on September 9 – Betsy Greaney has agreed to coordinate our second annual concert in the park.  It will be held in the Rock Creek Hills Park at 5:30 pm.  The band, Kensington Station, will again provide the music. Please bring your blankets and picnic food.

Coalition of Kensington Communities  - A new coalition was recently formed in order to address the growing need for safe, enriched and economically prosperous neighborhoods.  The coalition is proposing that the Kensington Communities, which include Rock Creek Hills Citizens’ Association, Kensington Estates Civic Association, KenGar Civic Association, Kensington Parkwood Residents Association and the Town of Chevy Chase View, organize to create a unified body to address the many issues they have in common.  In particular, this group will work toward the creation of a community center and monitor and participate in the implementation of the Master Plan that affects the Connecticut Avenue corridor. We need one representative from the Rock Creek Hills Citizens’ Association.  Please contact Shannon Hamm, if you are interested.
